My Story
I was born in Virginia, but grew up in Georgia.

My father was in the United States Navy and my mother owns her own business. My dad retired from the Navy and, unfortunately, passed away shortly before my seventh birthday. I have four older siblings.

Growing up, I had a thirst for knowledge and books, which set me on the path of becoming a writer. The first story I wrote was in third grade. It was about a swamp girl. When my teacher told me that she thought that I could be a writer, I felt proud. And, since then, I've strived to do just that: be a writer.

I studied at Augusta University and received my Bachelor's of Art in English and a second Bachelor's of Art in Anthropology. Afterward, I went on to study at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). My time at both universities was precious as I learned a lot of skills and was able to meet and network with unique personalities from different states.

After SCAD, I was able to secure a job teaching at my alma mater, Augusta University, as an adjunct professor. The following year I found myself as an adjunct professor at Georgia Military College. Both jobs were eye-opening. I learned a lot more about my craft and was able to hone my editing skills.

In February of 2020, these ventures allowed me to secure a government position as a Legal Writer-Technical Editor, and I've been fortunate enough to work with institutions such as the Department of the Army and the Department of Justice.

I have three novels and a TV show that I'm working on and, when the time comes, I would love to share my publication journey with you. Until then, I am focused on my blog The Write Voice.
